| I've been dealing with a issue on the Z that is driving me mad. It started about three weeks ago while cruising. I was coming to a turn and the vehicle just shut off. The vehicle would crank over but would not start. After about 30 minutes of waiting the vehicle started back up and drove great all the way home. Thinking it was a bad fuel pump I replaced it with a known good fuel pump to insure this was the issue before I would spend the money on a new one. Drove the car and same thing happened again. I decided to let the car idle in my garage to see if I would replicate the problem and sure enough after about 15 to 20 minutes it shut off. I could hear the fuel pump turn on even after the vehicle would shut off so I decided to check the ignition. I removed the CAS and the #1 coil plug and installed a new spark plug. I could hear the fuel injectors firing off but never saw a spark from the coil pack. I ordered a new PTU since I could feel the old V2 PTU getting hot. Once I received the parts I let the vehicle idle till it died off. I slaved in the PTU and it didn't fire. Still was not getting spark from the #1 coil. The only other items I can suspect are bad is going to be a bad CAS or wiring issue. I did check my PTU sub harness and all the wire read correctly. Is there a relay that controls the ignition coils? At this point I really don't know what else to do other than read wires which is not my specialty. I truly love my Z but right know it's just being a straight BITCH! Any help is immensely appreciated in resolving this issue.
